In the everyday warmth of ordinary life, live with deep affection and attain freedom of the soul. This book collects prose written by Lang Chuansheng in recent years as well as story works published in his early years. Among them are both affectionate depictions of the regional culture of the Hangjiahu area and delicate portrayals of ordinary figures, everywhere revealing a love for the true essence of life. It expresses the homesickness of “gazing at one’s hometown from Taiping Bridge,” experiences the busy farming seasons of “double rush harvesting and planting,” savors the abundance of “among earthly delicacies, mutton stands first,” and reflects on the calm wisdom of “when one reaches old age”… The entire book can be called a chronicle of folk life full of the warmth of everyday existence, leaving valuable micro-level records of social change. “”””””””……
