BISAC: Animals – Dogs
A funny, heartwarming children’s picture-book series inspired by Trout, a gray Great Dane with a big
personality and an even bigger heart. Trout tries to squeeze into tiny beds, little chairs, laps, and a toy wagon because he believes he is
still a little puppy. His size causes one funny disaster after another. In the end, Trout discovers that
being huge lets him comfort and protect others-and that his differences are part of what makes
him special.
Life lesson: It’s okay to be different.
Target age: 2-8 years
Tone: Funny, warm, playful, and reassuring.
Recurring message: Being BIG isn’t what makes Trout special. His BIG HEART does.
Trout: A giant gray Great Dane who often thinks he is lap-sized. He has a gray/blue coat, white
chest and toes, floppy ears, oversized paws, and a teal collar.
