BISAC: Mystery & Detective – Women Sleuths
A Jersey Shore bartender with a nose for perfume-and for murder.
After retiring from a high-pressure career as a professional “nose,” Erica Sloan returns to the Jersey Shore expecting quiet nights and a simple routine behind the bar at the Harbor Island Beach Club. But the calm she imagined ends abruptly when the club’s treasurer is discovered with Erica’s missing silk scarf around her neck.
Determined to protect her new beginning-and the people she cares about-Erica relies on the skill she knows best: her extraordinary sense of smell. One elusive fragrance note leads her toward long-held secrets and an unexpected connection to the 1934 Morro Castle, the luxury ocean liner that caught fire off the New Jersey coast, leaving behind mysteries that never fully washed away.
As subtle warnings escalate and her friends’ safety is threatened, Erica must trust her instincts, her training, and the loyalties that still run deep-including those of Detective Guy McCullen and her steadfast Aussie Doodle, Levi. Because even after all these years, the truth still carries a scent.
Book One in the Down the Shore Mysteries.
