One family. One Alpine chalet. One Christmas holiday that goes spectacularly off-piste.
The Whitcombes have gathered in the French Alps for what Isabel hopes will be the perfect family Christmas: roaring fires, festive food and just enough skiing to keep everyone cheerful.
Unfortunately, her mother Lilly has other ideas.
Armed with unshakable confidence, a questionable map and a route she insists she remembers, Lilly leads the family away from the crowded pistes in search of a more exciting descent. But when the weather closes in and the group becomes separated on the mountain, their festive adventure suddenly becomes far more serious.
With daylight fading, temperatures falling and Christmas fast approaching, they must put aside old frustrations and work together to find their way home.
Packed with chaotic family dynamics, sharp British humour, snowy mishaps and genuine warmth, The Chalet: The Black Run is a funny and uplifting festive story about the people who drive us mad, the memories that hold us together, and the unexpected magic of everyone making it home for Christmas.
