“You are the best nation brought forth for mankind” – a verse heard as reassurance, though in its own composition it is a covenant, a condition, and a liability.
This bilingual work defines that excellence with precision: a divine grant rather than a claim, a trust rather than a privilege, oriented to benefiting people rather than ruling over them. It then unfolds the conditions on which it depends – faith, enjoining right, forbidding wrong, the middle way, and bearing witness – before showing its forms on earth: mercy, knowledge, justice, character, and building.
The fourth section offers an unsparing diagnosis of what broke it: froth, division, dependency, appeasement, and a corrupted self-perception – every one of them internal. The fifth charts the road back: laws that favour no one, renewal that restores the origin rather than replacing it, and individuals who begin where they actually have power.
Twenty-six chapters in five sections, presented fully in Arabic and English. Each chapter opens with its governing verse and closes with two things: a weighed summary, and a concrete obligation placed on the reader.
