BISAC: Crime
Ryan Millard has chosen a reality that soothes him; one in which he hides from his past, his fears, and the deeds he regrets. But after the mysterious death of his wife, Emilia, everything changes. Detective Jeffrey Logan is determined to uncover the truth, but Ryan cannot remember what happened the night of his wife’s death. Convinced that Ryan’s odd behavior is related not only to his wife’s death but also to a series of murders in the peaceful city of Kirkland, Washington, Detective Logan does everything in his power to prove Ryan’s guilt. Without substantial evidence and with increased pressure to solve the murders, he begins to lose the objectivity that has made him one of the best detectives in town. As chaos and confusion reign, a race for the truth unfolds. Has Detective Logan’s quest for justice turned into an unfounded obsession that has led him astray? Or is Ryan Millard a cold-blooded murderer playing a game?
