“Pet Vet Wisdom” is an educational children’s story that follows two curious friends, Dick and Dawn, and Dick’s dog, Theo. The adventure begins with the children playing at a local pond, which is off-limits without adult supervision. There, they enjoy a new game of throwing sticks for Theo to fetch from the water. The fun takes a turn when Theo later develops a limp. Concerned, Dick and his mother take Theo to the trusted town veterinarian, Dr. Blitz. The doctor discovers and removes a painful thorn lodged between Theo’s toes, treats a minor infection, and bandages the paw. Through this experience, Dick and Dawn learn valuable lessons about pet health, including why dogs lick their paws and how wounds heal. The central message is driven home: some rules are not meant to be broken, as they protect us from unseen dangers. The book seamlessly blends an engaging story with educational “Teaching Pages” to foster an understanding of health, responsibility, and the consequences of one’s actions.
