Description
Strange things are happening in town, but only Nieve seems to notice that something is up. But when two strangers come to town, trailing night along behind them, and people, including Nieves best friend Malcolm, begin to disappear, Nieve knows that she must do something. She must venture into the Black City to uncover the mystery and save her town.A rich start to the projected trilogy, Nieve is a frighteningly delightful fairy tale for our times and is in keeping with Terry Griggss particular, sharp, spirited style. Evocative of fantasy heroines from Alice to Coraline, Nieve makes her story her own.Globe and MailNieve possesses a ceaseless flow of dangers and perils, and yet Griggs accomplishes this headlong narrative drive without sacrificing character development or emotional complexity. Its a tremendously visual and visceral novel.Quill & QuireGriggs is clearly an accomplished wordsmith. Her world is well imagined, and her description is often unique and surprising.CM Magazine
