Ashfield is a quiet town where some secrets are buried deeper than others.
When council employee Emily Rowe is found dead in the river, Detective Sergeant Mike Wren expects to be investigating an unexplained death. But Emily had been looking into something before she died.
People who know too much start disappearing. Evidence is altered. Someone is watching Mike’s every move. And behind Ashfield’s respectable faade lies a network of money, influence and power that has been operating for years.
With pressure mounting and those closest to him placed in danger, Mike must decide how far he is willing to go to uncover the truth.
Because in Ashfield, silence is not accidental.
It is enforced.
And sometimes the most dangerous secret isn’t who committed the crime…
but who made sure nobody would ever find out.
