BISAC: Historical – Civil War Era
After witnessing the horrors of the Civil War, Henry Gray wants nothing more than to come home and begin a new life with his fiance. But one final task remains in the aftermath of the conflict, and Henry’s keen intelligence, leadership skills, and aptitude for keeping secrets make him the perfect man for the job.
One hundred sixty years later, the author stumbles across a diary containing accounts of the prolonged mission that Henry came so close to completing. The Confederate gold he sought is still hidden somewhere in Waseca County, Minnesota.
Delving into family history, the author attempts to piece together what happened in the past and decipher the remaining clues. As his efforts bring him closer to the truth, he discovers that more is at stake than he bargained for.
And setting things right will require a strong moral compass.
