Alpharus is a self-sufficient megalopolis covering the surface of a green gas giant’s moon.
Two civilizations live there. The surface people, led by their spiritual guide, Father-Alpha, exploit the miners, who are shut away in the depths. There the miners dig for Alchium, the strange mineral that powers the city and keeps it independent.
But the repeated attacks of the dissident miner factions force the surface people to build a shuttle to harvest the resources of the asteroid orbiting the moon. They do it despite their sacred fear of space and the death it stands for.
