There is a Secret in the hills. What would Hollywood’s ravenous artists do to possess it? What lies would be told, what crimes committed? Begin the war for Imagination.
Aspiring writer Corinne Q meets her idol, Christopher Brand, once-novelist-superstar-turned-recluse. So begins a mentor/student relationship in his Laurel Canyon dream palace.
But LA turns its many eyes on newcomer, Corinne. A strange locked briefcase arrives at the same time as her, dark rumors spread through town, and Christopher Brand soon bars her from certain areas of the dream palace.
Hunted by all manner of stalkers, eccentrics, and occultists without knowing why, Corinne battles them all in the obsessive road to publication. Answers lie in her mentor’s abandoned pool house, in the texts of a famous Bohemian cult, and in her own memories.
Who will be the victor? Corinne, or the Canyon itself, its mysteries at work for one purpose: to hide away Corinne’s long-absent mother.
