What does it mean to find a safe place when the world around you feels uncertain?
A Safe Place Under White Clouds is a collection of 44 free-verse poems by Phan Thi Thuy (Pen name is Phan i Thu), a mom of two children, a educator in educational field for nearly 17 years. During an unexpected even happened to her fife, she expressed her wishes of freedom, and belonging, identity, nature, memory, resilience, and hope through poems.
At the heart of the book are deeply human questions:
Where do we belong?
What makes us feel safe?
How do we protect the people we love?
How do we remain true to ourselves through uncertainty and change?
Through moments of hardship and hope, Phan i Thu wrote her poems with pen and pencils before typing them in her laptop and with an enduring belief in dignity, kindness, family, and the freedom to live, love, work, grow, and find a place that feels like home.
