Cody has spent the last three years hunting a big buck that they have named “Sad-Daddy.” He worked out an agreement where he would do chores for the neighbor and in return, have permission to hunt the farm where Sad-Daddy roams. However, a series of unforeseen circumstances that were out of his control caused him to lose the hunting land and the deer that he was after. Cody would have to take drastic measures if we wanted to have a chance to get any of it back. He would find himself on a journey that would make new friends in unlikely places, learn new lessons from old friends, and find a new perspective on life. In the past year, a lot of things changed around Cody’s farm on Line Branch Road. But, would it be the things that left that would shape him… or would it be the things that came back?
Jack Armstrong’s goal is to provide a book that is exciting to read while producing a desire for kids to get outside and explore the outdoors. Every book teaches positive character traits through a redemptive theme underlying the meta-narrative.
