They had jobs, a home, a family, and safety. Then the earthquakes started. Now, they have what they can carry, a truck borrowed from work, and a family to protect from weather and looters. She prepped, but were they prepared?
Excerpt: Lena had other plans. She was into the prepper stuff. Her day of horror had arrived. When she recovered enough, with preplanned, almost ease she pulled waterproof backpacks out of a closet, prepacked with what? I couldn’t say. The packs she gave the boys were nearly toys, but the one she gave me was bigger and heavier than our three-year-old.
Parents’ Guide: Might not be suitable for young teens. Blood will be spilled in anger.
